Should I prune burned or brown leaves in a heatwave?

No. While it’s certainly tempting to clip off all of the unsightly scorched foliage during hot weather, it’s better to wait until after summer when the hot conditions have passed.  Though they don’t look good, the burnt foliage provides shade for the newer foliage underneath, and can even shade the soil, keeping that cool, as well.
