Why Isn’t My Plant in Bloom Yet?
We completely understand the excitement of opening your box and hoping to see flowers right away.
When we ship plants direct to your home, our first priority is plant health and long-term success — not temporary blooms.
Here’s why your plant may not be flowering yet or look like photos on website:
We Ship at the Ideal Planting Time
Plants are shipped when they are best suited for safe transit and successful establishment in your garden — often at the beginning of their natural growing season. This gives roots time to settle in before the plant puts energy into flowering.
Blooms Don’t Always Travel Well
Flowers are delicate. During shipping, even with careful packing, open blooms can bruise or drop. Instead of sending a plant that may arrive with damaged flowers, we ship strong, healthy plants that are ready to grow and bloom beautifully in your garden.
Roots First
Healthy plants focus on establishing roots before producing lots of foliage, fruit, and flowers. Once planted and given proper sunlight and water, most varieties will bloom right on schedule — and often more abundantly — in your landscape.
Many Plants Bloom Later in the Season
Some plants naturally flower in late spring, summer, or even fall. If it’s early in the season, your plant may simply be following its natural growth cycle.
The Good News
You’re not receiving a plant that has finished blooming — you’re receiving one that is just getting started.
With proper care, your plant will reward you with blooms that are fresher, longer-lasting, and better adapted to your garden than any flowers that could survive a box journey.
If you ever have concerns about your plant’s health, our team is here to help. Growing confidently is what we’re all about. Please reach out to Monrovia.com for more advice.
